About AlexAlex is a graduate of the Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy and is a member in good standing of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) as well as the Registered Massage Therapists' Association of Ontario (RMTAO). While studying at Sutherland-Chan, Alex specialized in sports massage, advanced myofascial techniques (deep tissue work) and post-surgical scar work in addition to core curriculum practicums in CNS disorders, seniors and pregnancy massage. Prior to studying massage, Alex has been an active professional in the health and fitness industry for more than 10 years. He began as a martial arts instructor, teaching children’s kung fu with Center Line Martial Arts Systems. Discovering through his study of martial arts a passion for understanding and helping others to understand the human body and its movements, Alex dove into studies of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology and manual therapy. Alex holds a Bachelor's Degree of Applied Science in Kinesiology from the University of Guelph as well as a college diploma from George Brown in Fitness and Lifestyle Management. He is currently a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology (CSEP) with additional certifications in Power Plate Integration (PPIS), Kettlebell Training (KTS) and Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST). Alex currently practices massage therapy, kinesiology and fascial stretch therapy at the Medcan Clinic in the heart of Toronto's financial district. |
